actually you can do it, there is something like reverse engineering. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_engineering)
I use to it IDA-Pro,it is not very easy, but as much as possible. I was reversering it but for sure you don't want do it, this code is not clear. Better option is write new one.
I am in the process of writing a new version, but instead of php I use python-flask in backend.
